Do I need to vote strategically?
April 22, 2025

No progressive wants to see a Conservative government led by Pierre Poilievre. So in Charlottetown riding, you’re probably considering: ‘Do I have to use a ‘strategic’ Liberal vote to block Poilievre?’
Perhaps there are two things to consider …
- First, while Conservatives here have a good candidate, her chances of a win are essentially nil.* The distaste for their leader is just too strong.
The service “VoteWell.ca“, using as its source 338 Canada (the statistical model based on opinion polls, electoral history, and demographic data), projects a Liberal victory of 56% to 33% for the Conservatives, and so recommends that strategic voting would be wasteful. - Secondly, should we really be voting out of fear? Instead of voting out of fear, against things, why not vote for the things you really want? … like a decent place for everyone to live in, a more comprehensive health system, reasonable grocery prices, climate-change action, fair treatment of minority groups.
We need to tell the Carney Liberals — and show all Canadians — that the progressive will remains strong and true in Canada … that we will not neglect the grass-roots issues that matter to people — cost of living, housing, health, environment, equity.
Let’s keep pushing to make our community and Canada a better place for all people.
