Think of the past couple of years … New Democrats have have been the people who fought for and achieved concrete results to make life more affordable for Canadians. We have:
- Brought Dental Care to millions of Canadians
- Delivered the Early Learning and Child Care Act to get $10-a-day child care
- Laid the foundation for Pharmacare by covering contraception and diabetes meds
- Doubled the GST credit for six months
In the last few weeks Jagmeet Singh has announced:
- a multi-pronged housing blueprint that will build homes and put tenants before landlord profits
- a cost-of-living plan — including price-caps and slashing GST on essential grocery-store items
- a strategy to boost the supply of nurses and protect the public delivery of health care.
New Democrats — like Joe Byrne in Charlottetown — truly work for the good of all.
As Joe says: “Our commitment is to create a society and economy that is inclusive — one which ensures that every single person in this country has enough to eat, a decent, affordable and safe place to live, a complete education, access to health care that recognizes all of our whole selves, and a natural environment that keeps us healthy.”
